Way To Start The New Year

Just after the new year began, so did a new chapter in my life.  Luckily, the day was a nice one, and not a cold, snowy, or rainy day like we thought it was going to be.  Both of our families came together wonderfully and we had a great time.  Her family and a good amount of her friends were able to travel to make the trip and stay the entire extended weekend, which turned into one big party.

We all rolled into my hometown on a thursday afternoon and came together at my parents house for dinner.  When I say all, I mean she and I, her parents, her sister, and two of her friends that were going to be in the wedding party.  Friday was all about final arrangements, which had mostly been put together over the phone by she and I, her parents, and in person by my parents.  We had the rehearsal at the church and then dinner at a local wing place that we all love.

The rest of her friends rolled into town later that evening, whom we met up with at the hotel for a hotel party.  It got a little rowdy at one point and the manager came knocking at the door but he didn't make too much of a big deal about it, thankfully.  We would have hated to get thrown out of the hotel that the reception and all of our rooms were booked at.

I stayed at my parents house the night before the wedding and she stayed in the hotel room with her girlfriends, which was nice because I got to hang out with my brothers again, although I didn't get much sleep.  Saturday came early too.

4:00 came around and I found myself waiting at the front of the church for my bride, who decided to go through with it afterall, despite the joking around that her friends were ready with the get-away car the entire time.

The service lasted about half and hour then led into about an hour of picture taking while all the guests left the church and gathered back at the hotel reception hall.

The company was great, the food was great, the music rocked, the night was awesome.

I am now a married man.  Whoa, that sounds totally different now that I look at it in writing!!
