Ramblings Of An Unknown Madman

Normal: conforming to the standard or the common type; usual; not abnormal; regular; natural. Not a bad word or concept, kind of a neutral thing, when used appropriately. Who is to say what the norm is? Is there a vote no one told me about where we decide what’s normal and what’s strange? I personally love “weird” and “strange” people. Seeing them gives me hope that when I finally figure out who I am then there will be a place for me in society. Most of us, be we “normal” or “different”, don’t ask for much after all. We all want the same basic thing for the most part, to be loved, accepted (not tolerated), and to have a little piece of the American dream for ourselves. That’s “normal” right? Now, just in case we’re in need of an example, let me lay it out for you. The sky is blue, normally, but sometimes it’s grey, or black, or bright shades of pink, red, or orange, and sometimes it has rainbows. Now, its normal state is blue, but the other ways aren’t any less natural. Honestly, it’s the best example I can think of. If we can define the uncommon state of the sky as still being “normal” or "natural" why can’t we define the uncommon states of humanity the same way? When we redefine what it is to be normal, we define what it is to be human. Quote that ****. Seriously, it’d look good as one of those inspirational little text images you see people sharing all the time.

I like your sky analogy.
