1st Mother's DayI lost my mom on April 1st, 2011. It was very sudden, my wife, my father, and i had just visited her in the residential care home the weekend before. Her mind was slipping but physically she seemed to be improving. The staff said that the night before she passed she had been singing nursery rhymes with the other residents and enjoying herself. She was gone the next morning. I suppose that passing in your sleep, somewhere where you are happy, is about the most one can ask for. She would have preferred to be home with dad, but she knew why she couldn't.
This has been my 1st mother's day without her. The mother's day ads have got to me a bit, but I know that mom knew she was loved. Dad came and visited for the weekend, and that helped. He's doing remarkably well, and for that I'm thankful.
Thanks for everything mom, you are missed.
