I am a 48 year old female who has Stage 4 CKD. I have been taking medications since 2003 to maintain my kidney function. But this disease is only a progressive one; and I need a transplant and my daughter is a good match. I have mixed emotions as to whether I should use her as my donor or not. She is only 22 years old but is willing to do this for me. I would like someone who has ever been in my shoes give me guidance as to what to do. And if you have ever had to make that choice, how did you decide on that decision. I have been on the transplant list since Dec. 2011 but nothing yet. I don't know how much longer my kidneys can last but do not want to do dialysis.

I have spoken to many people for their opinion. Some that have had same stories as me and others just regular people. They all have different answers, and of course, until you are in my place, you don't know what the answer is.

Please help me decide.

Thank you.
