Death Is a Special Journey Home

death is very special

   I was  raised a Catholic, and I believe that church has a lot to answer for when turning people off God.

I was actively discouraged from reading the Bible because only the priest would understand condesending. !!!!

I read widely with the help of a friend........I asked and looked for answers to 3 questions....

Where did I come from?
Why am I here?
Where am I going?

In finding these answers I realised the Catholic church was very wide of the mark and didn't know themselves. I got as far away from them as I could.

I found that we lived as spirits in a premortal existence before coming to earth. We wanted to progress, and this happens by coming to earth, gaining a body and experiencing all the emotions,pleasure/pain/grief/hot cold/hunger/worry/peace.....etc so we could learn (none of the negative emotions exist in Gods Kingdom)
We need to experience them so to be able to appreciate them........a bit like going to school....we dont like it but we know we need it to get a good job.

When we have experienced all that we signed up for....(yeah I know, I think i signed up for too much too!)
we return hopefully with diplomas in hand and move on to the next stage of growth.....nothing is stagnant in our Fathers Kingdom. No I dont believe in you finish high school then go back to kindergarten to start you go on......

I dont believe in the firey hell the catholics teach. The bible says our fathers kingdom is divided into 3 sections just as the sun /moon/stars give off different amount of light.......light being the light of Christ.....we will go to the Kingdom we would be most comfortable with......those faithful to the teachings of the gospel will be comfortable with the highest kingdom (sun) those not comfortable with the gospel will live their eternity with lowest kingdom(stars) Even the lowest kingdom is 100 times better than this earth !!!!

When we get to the other side....regardless of belief.....because Jesus attoned for EVERYONE....saint & sinner of all colors/beliefs.......we are surrounded by love...the most intense accepting love .....THIS I learned before joining any church because I have passed over during a critical illness. (and I definitely wasn't living a good life at the time)

I am looking forward to the time when I go home....and remember all that I also knew before I came to earth.....a veil of forgetfulness was placed over our memory so we would not pine for our fathers kingdom whilst we are here......I think maybe he did too good a job when you hear of how some speak of God....His heart must ache !

We are here, to experience freedom of choice and the CONSEQUENCES of these choices as a learning experience......the way we teach our children.

Eternal life is for everybody, where we go and what we do during eternity will depend on the 'diploma' we go home with.

For those who didn't accept/.didn't get the opportunity to learn about the gospel, there are angels teaching on the other side......we still have free choice to accept or reject it...(though I think by then you'd have to be thick not to accept)

We are not on this earth for a long time....though I agree somedays never seem to end.....the bible says in our fathers Kingdom, a day is a 1000years.

So when you do the math.....average life is 75 yrs....we are here for 1hr 20 mins . When we get back it will seem like we only just left !!!!

All I can say is ........Thanks to all of you for your beautiful insight. I would love to learn more from Lorraine.

The beauty of our human existence is that we all will have viewpoints that stem from many others input, be it religious leaders of the churches we attend, family and friends opinions/input. The list goes on and on. What we all need to understand is that we are spirits in human form, not humans with a spirit. This live we are experiencing in the now is only temporary. The body or shell we are carrying around will die, but we, the spirit that occupies it will go on forever.<br />
Read, learn, grow. Ask questions, never let anyone else tell you what to think or believe.<br />
Heaven, the Hereafter, whatever you wish to call it is the real place we come from and return to.<br />
Yes, we come here by choice and even choose the life we will experience. Like a school, we are here to learn, and not all the lessons are easy and we often wonder what the hell were we thinking when we chose this life. Just know you will get through it, do the best you can is all u can do.<br />
As for do we all return, even the evil people on earth (the hitler's etc) yes we do...but we do not all find ourselves on the same level of existence back home. We do have to explain why we chose to do the things we did, especially those that hurt others. There are many levels of heaven/home and depending on how we treated our fellow beings will decide where we go. It is all lessons, and we have to go through what we put another through, does the word Karma ring any bells?<br />
We have the ability to create our own idea of heaven when we return, the place that I might think of heaven may not be yours. <br />
The spirit realm is very understanding of what we need to feel comfortable when we first arrive, the need to see our loved ones and/or a familiar surrounding to us.<br />
There is a level of this existence that those who were just plain evil and cruel will not get to experience such bliss until they have gone through a very thorough cleansing process. And just remember the word Karma I used, yes they will have to go through what they did to others in another lifetime. We live on and on, it is all about growing in love and compassion. This can take thousands upon thousands of years. So live a good life, Do the best u can, shut up and go home....LOL....

I understand. Grief is an intense emotional pain and we feel it many times during our lives...losing love (break-up, death, divorce) moving home, changing jobs, retirement.....these are all pain experiences.<br />
<br />
Mourning is something the living do, not for the dead but because we miss them. It is a living emotion, our dead don't mourn. WE miss THEM. However, even the faithful mourn, it is a natural part of the recovery process to adjust to life on this earth without them. It is an ex<x>pression of love. We don't mourn a person we have not connected with at some space on this journey.<br />
<br />
The good news is that we will see them again, and that the life on this earth is really not that long.

I've spent a lot of time searching for answers. I'm glad that you have found some. <br />
<br />
I've been asking for some time why we 'mourn' the passing of family or friends, if we believe they are 'going home', that such an 'end' is really a 'beginning'? why don't we rejoice when we learn of a loved one's passing? <br />
<br />
I'm going to keep searching for answers...

Never too many questions !<br />
<br />
I believe I have had this experience so that I can share and uplift anyone who wants to know.<br />
<br />
All the best.

You take with you , your character, and your intelligence (education) nothing else

We return to the spirit world, and are not judged until after the millenium during which Jesus will reign. This is all in the Bible !<br />
<br />
When we then regain our body, which will be without disability, and in it's prime.

We were spirits therefore we didnt have form like our body is now.<br />
<br />
Apparently, if we didn't have the "veil of forgetfulness" upon us, we would spend our time here just *pining for home* instead of living by faith.<br />
<br />
We were adult spirits in the premortal existence, but we are born infants in our body so we have time to cope with the *restriction* of a body<br />
<br />
All this is in the bible. Makes for a great read !

thank you Emptysoul30

I know what you mean about coming to experience the bad aspects of life. I am reminded of the saying "The shadow proves the sun."<br />
<br />
Your experiences give us all hope. I'm glad to have the honour of reading them.

gryfnn - indeed life is a gift, and what we do with it is OUR gift to God

I too was raised a Catholic....:) the nuns had the perfect answer for all my questions, "It's a mystery." I smile every time I think of it. I especially smile, when I remember how angry that answer used to make me. :)......No one discouraged me from reading the bible----when I did read it---it used to make me mad too. I was such a silly angry child--temper tantrums were my response to anything that didn't please me. This is such a strange world. So much beauty and wonder here.....odd how, no matter how fortunate people are.....many of them are not content.....I had an experience once. I suddenly was out of my body. I had no brain either. I was just a bit of consciousness. No time---no fr<x>ame of reference. When I was returned to my body, I truly understood that "Life" is a gift.

ecpc - I'm happy to share my experience with you. Do enjoy your bible, there are many answers within.<br />
<br />
Youwhodance - suicide is deemed in the bible as "murder of the self" and as ecpc said jumping the queue, with as serious consequences as murder has.

geez,.i gotta check my gifts and whiteboard more often!!...I keep thinking i'm invisible!!...but i'm not!!...hahahaha...Yes,.i did like this discussion of topic...I actually got a real nice bible recently....dunno exactly why.....but thought it might be interesting...I'm hoping to read it and do my own comprehension...Youwhodance,..if you do that,..its called "jumping the queue!!"....which means you better have a good reason!!...(lol)

thank you for your understanding and support.<br />
<br />
I feel so blessed to have had a death experience to set me on a road of better understanding of our purpose here.<br />
<br />
As for suicide, I don't know the answer, save as to say, I believe our body is a gift from God, some have trials with their journey and it can seem more than we can cope with. However, when I have felt this way, I have cried out to God for urgent help and peace, which, one time in particular, I received immediately. It was a beautiful peace for 3 days whilst I picked myself up and got the energy to go back and fight for my son.<br />
<br />
I think God would be enormously disappointed in us for not sticking to our trial and coming out stronger. I think he would not be happy with suicide, but I don't know for sure where you would go on the otherside.

Love the logo, Lorraine... It's the way I feel when I think of death.<br />
<br />
We may not be sharing the same exact ideas but I'm with you generally. We're here to learn consequences of our actions and how to accept them.

this is beautiful and very thought provolking. Thank you so much for sharing this with us.

Ahhh we humans love to put things into little boxes only to discover that even boxes are infinite....and therein lies the responsibility for every thought, every action, every feeling, and every personal journey for us all individually that is collectively offered to all for growth, experience and discovery of joy to reside in love of which and who we are...

We dont come from stars !!<br />
<br />
The sun/moon/stars are metaphor found in Revelations and in Isaiah

Please explain: what bible verses tell us that we are from other stars and have a pre-mortal existence?<br />
We know that after we die we will be judged. It won't be based on our good deeds. It is based on whether we accept Jesus the Christ into our hearts as Lord and Savior.<br />
<br />
Hebrews 9:27 (New American Standard Bible)<br />
And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment, <br />
<br />

My sense of the big picture is that there is innocence and love at the core of every being. And that the most disturbing thoughts, feelings or actions are in fact, cries for a way out of something overwhelming--something bigger than one is able to handle at the time. What if time itself were not what we think? What if we could shoot right through all the pain, horror and regret in order to simply touch that place of inner innocence and peace? What if we didn't have to wait for 'heaven' in order to taste it? What if we could do it in any moment and know freedom for at least just that instant? What if all we ever have is just THIS instant? How might it be to feel the Love and Support which is there for everyone, right now... even if just for a moment when nothing is tormenting us and life lets us just BE... It could be worth a try...

I'm with you! This is a journey of learning, growing and experiencing. This life is too short for all we need to do, but some days are very dark but with God's help he always sees us through it.

where will all the murderers go after death?<br />
will they also inherit the kingdom of God?
