Growing Up In A Small Town In Iowa In The 50's And 60's It Was Hard Not To.

I don't remember how old I was, but it was probably around 6 or 7 when I learned to use a rifle. Started with a .22 single shot (useful for squirrels and rabbits, but you soon learn you have to be good because you won't get a second shot in.) Since then, have shot lots of rifles, from the .22 to H&H .475 magnum (that was a surprise--I had always been told that shotguns kick and rifles don't, boy is that wrong). By the time I was 10, I'd also learned to shoot both pistols and revolvers (It sure was nice when the ruger .22 pistols were $59.00). And of course shotguns were a necessity. (pheasant hunting) so I started with a 20 ga., but over the years shot everything from .410 to 8 ga. (duck gun--a monster). I haven't done much shooting recently though. May have to find a range and have a little fun.
