A New Way Of Looking At My Necklace

I have a necklace that I wear pretty much everyday. I've had it for most of my life, can't remember exactly which Christmas it was gifted to me. It's a tiny silver chain with a bicycle charm on it, and has always been kind of an inside joke between me and the person who gave it to me. I've never really thought about it, and often forget that I'm wearing it unless someone comments on it or it isn't there when I go to fidget with it in moments of nervousness or anxiety.

A little bit ago, I decided to take a little walk around downstairs, stretch a bit after spending most of the morning doing paperwork for the audit we've got this week. While I was down there, I decided it might be a good idea to go ahead and grab a snack since breakfast was somewhere around six this morning, and lunch likely will have to wait until well into the afternoon. The gentleman that works at the bagel shop has been a friend of mine for a while, but either hasn't noticed my necklace before or just chose today to tell me that he liked my necklace. If he had stopped there, this story wouldn't exist. But he didn't stop there. His verbal filter completely failed, and the next words out of his mouth were, "Just makes me want to hop on your neck and go for a ride."

Of course, it was at that moment that all other noise was quiet, so basically everyone within a 10 feet or so heard him. I'm not sure what was funnier: him trying to explain what he actually meant, one of our other co-workers snorting coffee through her nose, or the looks on the faces of the seminary students behind me in line.

Ah, Whym, that guy is hilarious. He's named after one of my favorite Sesame Street characters, and he's always good for brightening the day :)

^^^ What she said!

LOL. Yes, it probably wouldn't have seemed nearly as funny if he'd said the same thing while we were in the kitchen and away from the seminary kids.
