I'm Just Lucky Like That.

I've been blessed in knowing several beautiful people in my somewhat limited time walking the earth thus far. A trend I tend to notice is the fact that so many of these people are ridiculously self critical of themselves and don't see any of the good in themselves that I so often do.

There is a boy I know who is so sweet, yet so damaged. He deals with his pain by laughing it off, when most people don't know that he sinks into a deep depression when he's home alone and has no self esteem. This particular individual is one of the sweetest and most caring people to ever have lived, but so many people have made comments about him that he is immensely downtrodden. It seems no matter how many times I bring it to the forefront that he is amazing, attractive, and wanted....he always asks why. Says he doesn't understand why anyone would want him. That he's nothing to worry about. He sincerely seems to hate himself, and I don't understand why.

I have introduced him to someone who will likely succeed or die trying to make him see himself for what he really truly is. To let him love her, and maybe even teach him to love himself a bit too.

I'll likely post a few more stories at a later date about other amazing people who just don't realize how beautiful they truly are.
