I hate that when people say they're a Christian, people automatically assume JUDGMENTAL BIBLE-THUMPER PRO-LIFE ANTI-ABORTION ANTI-CONTRACEPTION PRO-GUNS SUPER-PATRIOTIC REDNECK AHHHH I BETTER RUN BEFORE I GET SHOT BY THIS CONSERVATIVE CHRISTIAN!!!!!!

No. That's not what Christianity is about. These ULTRA-conservative Christians have given all Christians a bad name. If you want to know what Christianity is about, talk to God, not to these people. I'm not explaining it any further. Enough said.

Christian and liberal aren't synonymous either.

Yes, Christians should burn their bibles and buy Das Kapital, the Communist Manifesto and become prostitute drug addicts. That's what the Bible says, huh? Unless you Christians buck up, Islam will eat you for breakfast.

MrsLucas, I have noticed this revival too, and I love it. I think it really captures the heart of what Christ is about. I would love to go to one of these new contemporary churches.
unobserver, I believe he said, "I like your Christ; I do not like your Christians."

Was it Ghandi who said "I would be a Christian, if it weren't for Christians?"

I think that there is a new revival in Christianity, the younger generation is taking it by storm and expressing their emotions in different ways. There is singing, dancing and rejoicing in the house of the lord and the house doesn't necessarily have to be a church. People go the beach, for a bike ride or whatever their passion is and they have a relationship with their god. It isn't about standing in a church.. Sit, stand, kneel, repeat. It isn't about religion anymore, it is about a relationship, its about living a better life and making the world a better place.

Yeah, I hate the judgmentality of so many Christians. I know not all of them are that way, including myself. I wish more of my fellow Christians would follow the root of the word...CHRIST.

Certainly christians have gotten a bad name, and some of it is deserved. After all, there were the Crusades, and some people still hold that against christianity.
Still, I think the most important one in your list was the first one: judgemental.
