I've Been Through It A Few Times

I like watching these Americans badmouth our health care, you can really see the effect of the brainwashing they receive when you see how the news outlets talk about the Canadian health care system. I actually saw one piece where a guy came up to Canada to prove our health care system sucks. He went to a medicenter on a Sunday and got all upset that it was closed... So he goes to the hospital and gets mad because he has to wait 2 hours to see a nurse for his "hurt wrist", which shows no sign of injury whatsoever, and then thinks it's pretty crappy that they won't give him a rubber glove so he can make "the chicken". I guess in America they don't have triage, and like letting people waste medical supplies.

For people who actually NEED health care, it's amazingly effective. I had a kidney stone, went in (in obvious pain), and I was in a bed inside of 15 minutes, with a hit of morphine after 25 minutes. They knocked me out, put a stent in, gave me the x-ray, I got my prescriptions and I was outta there. Two days later I got the sonic treatment that breaks up the stone, and after a week they took out the stent and I was good to go. The whole deal cost me maybe 12 bucks for the meds. How much would an American pay for all that?

Sorry if people with crazy terminal illnesses that probably won't survive anyways have a problem getting experimental treatments that probably won't work, and also cost at least several hundred thousand dollars.  If they want that kind of stuff they can go to the States and have it done, I don't want to be paying for it in taxes.  No sense spending exorbitant amounts of public resources just for a chance to keep one person alive a bit longer, it's stupid.  If they're that valuable, they should be able to pay for it themselves.  People get sick and die, it happens.  Accept it.

Well the way I see it, it's mostly rich people who are opposed to the universal health care system. Rich or middle class people who watch too much TV.
