No CC. Genocide deserves a response, a harsh, immediate and deafening response to say we'll not put up with this.

That's kind of what I was thinking, Josie06. It seems like we think know what's going on but we really aren't classified to know all that knowledge. What would the majority do with that knowledge and is it for the public to know? Regardless, we do our best with what we've got.

I often wonder of the lines of corruption that are crossed or even danced around when anyone gets into a role of power.

It's strange to completely take one side or another towards war. To refuse war is to be unprotected when attacked. To accept war as a way of life is to seem barbaric and uncaring of the lives and deaths of others. It's a strange tightrope balancing on the topic.

The world has see many times over nations reach their level of provocation or a ruler who would abuse power.

War hasn't changed much over the centuries except for technology.

Politicians are still politicians but have evolved in to more egalitarian rulers who forgot how to talk except to run for re-election.

What Clausewitz wrote over a century ago is true. "War is only the instrument, and policy the controlling faculty, in a well ordered state." He went further to say that "war should be subordinated to policy but not necessarily politics." [Vom Kreige (On War) first published 1932]

We need all the facts, not just the facts the Press tells us to make a decision. Books in the hundreds exist which are not available in Open Source aid in making a decision. Our politicians my look bad from time to time however we'll not know the truth until all their records are declassified. Until then we make decision based solely on available information and gut-feeling.

"Power tends to corrupt; absolute power corrupts absolutely." ~ Lord Acton

Watch how we "brush" that line or it can encompass all leaders regardless, like paint.

I know that war is inevitable, but I hardly see it as necessary. We humans like to think we're more evolved than those animals that we feel superior to. However... I've never heard of an instance where Dogs and Cats organized armies and went to war (I'm well aware there was a movie about that though).

I firmly believe in what always was the old American policy... Only use war as a retaliation, never as instigation. It has seemed that many times American politicians have forgotten that. That is the wise policy in my mind.

I agree with everything you've written. From the first comment to even the last quote. I don't like it but I came to terms with it being necessary too.
