Lupercalia aka Valentine Day

Like many other holidays, Valentine’s Day was stolen from the pagans and renamed to fit the Christian agenda.

The Roman’s Lupercalia was the original swingers get down. Instead of men throwing car keys into a hat (how many of you have played that game) the women would toss ‘billets’( small paper) into a bowl and the men would draw names. Guess who tried to stop that when they came to power.

February was the month that this game Lupercalia was most popular. (I do believe that it was played during other months.) February is named after Juno Februata, Goddess of the “fever”(febris) of love.
