I Can Predict Things :P
Unfortunately this only seems to occur when people die. So far everyone apart of my life that's died, I've known about. However I don't necessarily know about it, it's just like an extremely specific random thought.
The first time it happened my dad was driving me home from school. About half way home he says "oh and your mom called". For some odd reason, I automatically thought "Grandpa died". Sure enough, when I call my mom when I get home, she answers the phone bawling and hardly manages to blurt the news out and tells me she'll call me back later. I burst out crying, partly because of the fact that my grandpa is dead, but more so out of horror that what i thought earlier was true.
Two years later, I was up in Michigan visiting my mom and my other family for the summer. One night my mom let me go sleep over at my cousin's house. I Tried to call her cell phone right before I went to bed and she didn't answer. Out of allllll the reasons one doesn't answer their phone, my mind says "she's dead". This time when that thought came up, i tried telling myself i was wrong. "No, no silly. She probably didn't hear the phone ring. or maybe she's already sleeping" I thought forcefully. However when I wake up the next morning, my dad calls and tells me what my mind already did.
A few months after that my dad and I were sitting at home waiting for delivery people to come and bring us new furniture. So far, they're about an hour late, and my dad is pissed. As i watch my dad yell at the delivery men on the phone, i think " you know what would really make dad's day suck? if Grandma died". About a half an hour later my aunt calls my dad and he and comes in my room after hanging up and says "Grandma died." This time the news doesn't even phase me. All I manage to do is mumble an unenthused "oh".
On a lighter note, sometimes this does happen with other things as well. Many times I can be day-dreaming in a boring class when I would randomly think of a portion of a television show, and sure enough that particular episode would come on that night. Sure this isn't really useful, but I can't help but chuckle whenever it occurs.
