I Know What It Is Like to Lose a Beloved Pet
Like many pet owner & lovers, I have experienced the loss of a beloved pet.
We lost Sandy, our Leopard Gecko on October 30th, 2005 due to starvation.
One day, she was pouncing on the crickets, but somehow she missed and plunged into the sharp sand. That's when things took a turn for the worst...her mouth got infected, and she couldn't open her mouth nor eat, so she slowly succumbed to waste, dying painfully.
We lost her. It felt like someone stabbing you right through the heart, taking your very breath away.
We all still miss her.
Then, I received word that yesterday, our neighbor's dog, Journey, had suddenly died. We just saw 'em Thursday, and he looked pretty well, healthy and loving. He was the sweetest, most loving dog anyone can ever have. He was a beautiful, Golden Retriever who loved life, and food (=
Reagan, our rescued mutt, adored Journey as much as we adored him.
He has taken the journey to a loving, new place, where I know one day, we will meet again.
We miss you Journey, Reagan loves you too.
