I Know What It Is Like to Lose a Beloved Pet
My little Petal, died of old age,she was 17 years, she died on my bed,I was laying on my side, she was behind me,now and again I looked at her and she was still breathing, then I felt a little paw press agaist my back,I looked at her and she had passed away, she could not have touched me,she was wrapped up in a blanket, but I did feel her little paw very clearly, she was saying good bye,it was 1am.In the morning I called "Heavenly Pets" and had her cremated,I keep her ashes with those of my two other dogs in the display cabinet of my bedroom. I saw Petal again, just a glimpse of her in the garden,as I was unlocking the front door after a long journey following a particularly unpleasant "holiday" at my niece,it lifted my spirit in an instant. My little dog is still there for me.She knows when I need consolling.
