My family has been from New Orleans for generations. I had to leave it in 2005 for hurricane Katrina and was gone for about 6 months completely unsure of whether I'd have a home to return to or not. It's been nearly two years. New Orleans is recovering but we'll never completely shake off the pain and the memory of Katrina. I can definitely say that after this whole experience I've learned that 1) material things can always be replaced, 2) home is more than a just a house, and 3) I definitely know what it means to miss New Orleans.

Proud to call it home, baby.
