A Lesson And A Choice

I've been cut by words.  I've had my soul sliced to shreds by people wielding words.

Some of those wounds may never heal.

That's okay, it taught me a valuable lesson.  I learned to always be careful of the words I choose.  I learned to be wary when I criticize, aware of the wounds I may cause.

Though the lesson was bitter in the learning, I'm grateful for it.  Otherwise, I may never have known how a single ill-chosen word can cause a lifetime of pain.

It hurt to learn, but I am grateful
