Taking Back What Is Mine

Somehow

You stole my voice, when I wasn't looking,

And replaced it with your own.

I feel it reverberating through my body, burning through my veins.

Pain and joy and heartache;  laughter and tears echoing down a

long dark hallway with a single door...a beam of light spills out from underneath

and I hear our voices mingled in song but

it's so

far

away,

I can't tell if the melody is one of sweetness or agony.

So I want my voice back.

Maybe someday I will share it with you, if you want, if I want,

If fate wants....

But for now,

it's mine.
