...sort Of

About five years ago, I had a cat named Charlotte. She was the most affectionate cat I've ever met, to the point of clingy - once she tried to follow me to work. But anyway, she didn't even like to be separated from me at bedtime, so of course I let her have free run of the bed.

My body probably takes up about 45-50% of the surface area on the average twin mattress. That left another 50-55% free for Lotty. And where did she choose to sleep?

On my head.

Well, not directly on top of my head, but curled around it, with her tail draped over my right shoulder and her nose by my left ear. At first I used to move her whenever she did this, but she would stubbornly return to that position, and I eventually got used to it. I called her my nightcap.
