Agreed. Though I must say, sometimes it is the character of the person striving for his/her dream that matters most. As someone who was a member of, a place where aspiring authors come together to share our fledgling stories, it does matter what you're made off. I've seen ff authors who showed great potential, but interpreted every attempt of constructive criticism as an affront to them and their skills as a writer. Negative comments are not always harmful, but rather our interpretation of them.

I know, and you are right. But that's not what I meant. I meant that there are people who have problems taking criticism, and often mistake a person giving honest, though harsh, comments meant to help him/her improve as just another hater (the example I have given earlier is one of the best, since the one thing you must never do is sugarcoat things for young authors. It can ruin any chance they ever had at succeeding.)
