Explore. Dream. Discover.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

~ Mark Twain

I am ready to Explore. Dream. Discover.

Ordinarily I wouldn't dilute such a lovely thread. No one seems to have been here recently so I'll go right ahead. It's just that I spend my life onboard a sailboat and your post is close to my heart. The day I quit chasing dreams will be the day I die.

Thank you for commenting. How wonderful to be able to set sail and chase your dreams! That's the life right there. :)

I forgot to say Thank You before responding to your story. Thank You for a second chance to say I'm grateful to You for this post.

You're welcome. It's a quote I love and need to remember more when the day-to-day bogs me down.

I want to sail away too !!!!!!!

Wouldn't it be wonderful?

It would be the best thing that I ever did :)

Absolutely!

Agree ++++++++++++++++

Thanks. Me too!

I rarely regret stuff I do. Most regrets are for things I didn't do.

I'm the same way. I try to live with no regrets. Everything is a learning opportunity, and I don't want to regret something I didn't do.

That actually fits my life perfectly right now:)

That's great!

Now this I can believe.... such true words

I really like that quote. I believe it too!

Absolutely spot on!
It relates to the Nelson Mandela quote I currently have as my status:
There is no passion to be found playing small. In settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.

That's a great quote too. Thank you.

Kinda reminds me of a song...

Sometimes we must be patient and just wait and other times we must act.

I agree, Kink. I haven't had a chance to listen to the song, but I will. Thanks!

Oh, it's nothing special, just some country. Lol
You're welcome, my dear.
Just did a little reading of some of your stories today when I had a chance. :-)

I noticed. Was planning to thank you for all the rate ups. You're wonderful. *hugs you tight, kisses you sweetly*

How true

Thank you. I agree.

I love quotes too. In fact I loved them so much that I actually followed this quote and confessed my feelings to someone thinking that If I don't say it now then I would regret it later on...however, now I am writing this comment because I actually REGRET that I ever expressed my feelings...on the hind sight, it is better for some words to remain unspoken...sometimes words spoken can cause lifelong pain because after they are spoken or after an action is done..it can't be undone!

I'm sorry you had that experience! I still think it's best to live life with passion and without regrets. Matters of the heart can by tricky, though, and I'm sorry if the person you care for didn't reciprocate your feelings.

you are so right so go for what you know leprechaun in the hood.

Lol. Thank you tiger beat. :)

What a laugh eh! I write a word consisting of an o, an r, a g and a y and it gets replaced by asterisks. Do 'they' realise they're setting me a challenge.

Lol.

Censorship is full of asstricks

I love the responses. All those people who are currently, for some reason or other, tied to swapping cliches on EP will, as soon as the weather improves or whatever, get out there creating lots of greenhouse gases in an **** of self indulgence.

So true!! Awesome Quote, thnx for sharing it.

You're welcome!

Our best memories are of when we take action not of when we watched reruns on tv.

Very true. Thanks for commenting.

If I'm alive in 20 years, no one will be more surprised than I. And it will be proof positive of both God's compassion and His wry sense of humor. :)

Very cute. I fully believe God has compassion and a wry sense of humor.

Nice. I've been bold in nearly everything that I've done . . . except that I have these sea anchors of anxiety and shyness that have held me back. Doing something about that now.

Love the quote. I think that between Sam Clemens, Thomas Paine, and Ambrose Bierce, there is a gold mine of quotations between them.

I agree. Good luck as you work on your goals, and thanks for your comment!

gorgeous quote, and what i needed to read tonight.thank you!

You're welcome! I'm glad it inspired you, and thank you for your comment.

me too

ready to explore, create, live

Go for it!

No matter what you do there will always be the other thing that you didn't do. However I would much rather not do sitting on the couch and watching TV instead of not getting out and climbing rock walls.

Very true, although lately it's been sitting on the couch reading and writing on EP instead of getting out and doing something else. :)

It's winter, I do not like the cold so I do sit and read, write here on EP and when spring comes.. I'm off and running... up to no good! lol... I love the wisdom of Mark Twain. Have a good day.

Thank you. I understand that and tend to be the same way. It is definitely much more enjoyable to be up to no good. Although, I like the quiet times I have for reading, writing and reflecting. I don't get that often, so I revel in it when I can. Enjoy your day as well!

I have always so loved this particular quote.

It's a great one.

I agree totally.

Me, too!

I never regret anything Ive ever done. I'm happy to say that. But I almost automatically regret if I choose not to do something I want.

I am the same way. I have chosen to live without regrets and see mistakes as learning experiences. I'm also the type who has to learn the hard way, but I never want to wonder "what if?" or "if only."

Exactly.
