Imports And Micros?

anyone else into imports and microbrews? I'm a bit of a beer snob and not into Bud or MGD, etc.

I'm from Bavaria.
We have the best beer.

I agree! Belgium is good too, but I vote for Bavaria!

I'm totally into homebrewing too!

Lots of great west coast beers from Cali on up the coast. Try some on draught when you find em.
And for the serious beer snob, consider brewing your own. You'd be suprised what a delicious beer you can make in your very own kitchen. Honest.

If you ever have the opportunity to taste anything from Craftsman Brewery do so. Mark Jilg is the Master Brewer of his brewery, the man is a brew god. His beers are awesome with respect to flavor and quality. Here's a link to a video he did with KPCC.
I agree with you about the Bud of course. But I have never had Asian beer in Asia and the Sapporo, Tsingtao, Kirin, and such I have here from time to time is not very good :(

Bud and the rest is not even beer in my opinion. Maybe at one time it was but these days with the enzymes and extracts it is just swill. Not worth drinking

I have a taste for Asian beers myself, the authentic ones. The Kirin you get here is brewed by Anheuser Busch in LA but the Kirin you get in Japan is a whole 'nother animal.
Of the US beers Yuengling is about the only one I like for mass market beer, but the micros is where the USA truly shines and many handily beat the vaunted German beers even the local ones.

I didn't mean to leave out the British and Irish, but I still prefer Belgian and German!

You've got a point there. Those Germans and Belgians really know their beers, so do the English and Irish for that matter (though I prefer Murphy's or Bemish to Guinness).

some Belgian and German imports are pretty amazing!

Micros and homebrews are definitely the best!

Marty, it's all about the American microbrews!!!

generally I like almost all beers that have taste. Most American beers to me are not worth drinking.

Yay Martytice! I know I always feel kind of like a freak being a big beer girl, but I yam what I yam! And I do love stouts too. But, in defense of my femininity, I do generally prefer malty and sweeter beer.

of course I am. You cant love beer and not love imports! Currently my favorite is Guinness Stout. Not a ladies beer but i love it. I do admit to liking a few of the American beers. Some of the Sam Adams brews are good. I've also enjoyed a few Killian's Irish Red and Smithwick's. Glad to meet another girl that likes beer!
