Never Thought I'd Be Riding A Bike & Wearing Funny Clothes

3 years ago the guys at church got me interested in doing an MS140 ride.  I had not ridden a bike since I was a kid. I bought a cheap used mountain bike to try it out, just to make sure I really wanted to do this biking thing.  I was hooked.  I remember how awesome I felt the first time I came home and told my family I just rode 9 miles.  Since then I have ridden close to 5600 miles, rode in a couple of MS150 from Houston to Austin, and got  and wild hair and rode my bike all the way across Texas last year in 15 days.  I am now preparing for another MS150 and plan to ride from the TX/LA border to the Atlantic this June.

Yes it can get a bit addicting. Road my bike a lot as a kid and in college then life got busy. 5 years ago I got back into it and have logged over 20,000 miles since then.

What I like most about riding a bike is that it is so much easier than running or a lot of other forms of exercise. There are distractions from the work you are doing & you get to enjoy being outside.
