The Summer "fire" In The Fireplace

Each spring I would place a fireplace fan to cover the large black hole the fireplace appeared to be during the long warm days. A fireplace is lovely with a crackling fire, but in Mississippi, the need for a crackling fire lasts about one month.

A few years ago, I saw a photo of a fireplace, filled with white pillar candles of various sizes. They were lit and provided a lovely romantic glow. I loved how it looked, copied this for my fireplace. During the holidays, I switch out the white candles for festive seasonal candles - black and orange for Halloween, orange, brown and golden yellow during Thanksgiving, pastels at Easter.

So now I have my flickering fire in the fire place without the heat.
