I Enjoy The Truly Unusual In Music

I'm forever on the look-out for the kind of music that most people probably wouldn't listen to. Here are a few of my favorite groups; hoping to find a few fans out there who are familiar with (and enjoy) one or more of the following:

Liaisons Dangereuses, The Residents, Nurse with Wound, Terranoise, Underworld, Parasense, Devo, Negativland, Suicide, ICP, Yello, DJ Hell, Crazy Astronaut, Mr. Bungle, Richard Cheese, Tipsy, Klaus Nomi, Nine Inch Nails.

If there are any really adventurous listeners out there, I'd love to hear from you.

uh-oh...I like Richard Cheese way too much!
I've been murdering songs in his style for a few weeks now-make it stop!

and in other news I just got a big stack of truly strange music from the estate of an old departed friend...lots of offbeat ambient/tribal and a few gems like Current 93 and Edward Ka Spell,I've got plenty of strange audio activity ahead of me.

if I was gay,I'd be all kissy over Mike Patton...I think I have every Yello album, give or take a few.
it's very rare indeed to find a fellow Nurse with Wound afficionado!
I had a girlfriend nearly move out over the whole Negativland thing...long story.
I'll be sure to look up Parasense and Richard Cheese.

I've got a few pretty good Suicide stories-I got to meet Alan Vega once.

I think my favorite "band" is African Head Charge,usually-preferably the early stuff.

The first time I heard "Squeeze Me Macaroni" I was laughing non<x>stop. Mike Patton is insane and brilliant.

At last, a Mr. Bungle fan! My personal favorite: "Goodbye Sober Day." Great, highly innovative band ...

LOVE Devo and Mr. Bungle!

In that Devo vein, I am also a huge fan of Talking Heads....post punk FTW

I like Terranoise. Some of your faves were around in the 80's. I had forgotten about most of them until I saw your list. I lived in LA in 1979-81, and got to do roadie work for a friend's band. They played Madame Wongs and the Roxy and they knew some of these groups (& raved about Klaus Nomi).

Richard Cheese... lol. I first became aware of him after his "Down With The Sickness" rendition on Dawn of the Dead. I love how he makes you realize how utterly stupid some lyrics are. "Welcome to the Jungle" cracks me up every time.

Yello - I do believe that's the creator of the Ferris Bueller "Oh Yeah" diddy. Cool.

Devo and NIN of course. Not particular fans, but aware.

That's all I know of.
