    ahhh another thief...lol, that doesnt surprise me and he probably got it from the little people!...aint that just typical. The moral is to do with greed i would imagine...

    I recall having had this tale read to me as an infant at school and remembered the Tinder Box and those dog's eyes. There is a slight moral to this story but it is a superficial one which was probably written by Hans Anderson himself. He was a collector of folk-tales which he wrote claiming that they came from his own imagination which today would be regarded plagiarizing. Those folk-tales are easily distinguishable owing to their profound wisdom and social message such as the Emperor's New Clothes and the Ugly Duckling.
