Beautiful Math - How Does It Add Up

The foregoing are quotes of Benoit Mandelbrot.  I made the discovery of fractal geometry quite by accident.  After a late night session on EP I thought I would catch a wink or two.  Sleep was not my destination - I was meant to travel elsewhere . I  started to doze off when an image or two and the narrative grabbed my curiosity.  Unable to locate the "off switch" for my brain I ended up consumed by a program on the Discovery Channel.  I do not claim to have the ability to understand all of the theory but it opened doors to new thoughts.
