We were poor when I was a child and that was one of my fav meals.

We call french toast arme Ritter here in Germany, that means poor knights but please don't ask me why.

I like them best with cinnamon sugar. Mmmmmmm

French toast is awesome! I've had the ones with all kinds of sweets like bananas and strawberries. I've also had it with dinner type meals like chicken and steak. I know it sounds gross but when you make the nest egg style of french toast...where you cook the egg over easy in the middle of the toast...it's like steak and eggs with toast...but not...uh yeah...

Not me. I love breakfast at any time.

Damn, now I have to get eggs at the store, too . . . :-)

I always add cinnamon and a little vanilla! Mmmmmm! Sometimes I even make it for dinner. Who said breakfast was only for the morning?

French toast is easy. Crack one or two eggs, pour in just a dab of milk, blend it together with a spoon, then pour it on a plate. Then just coat the pieces of bread with the mixture by dropping them on the plate and flipping them with a fork.

Throw the bread in a skillet and cook until done. In other words, golden brown.

Jelly is delicious on them, although I know a lot of people use syrup and powdered sugar.

My mom never made french toast... I guess she didn't love us. I tried to make my own version of it a few times but I'm sure I mucked it up.

I never heard of putting jelly on it in lieu of syrup. I'll have to try that at the diner.

I've never had guava jelly. Sounds like something the Flintstones have on toast.

Exactly what part of the toast do they stuff? Sort of a thin area to do major work in.
