Walking In Nature

Hiking is the one excerise - besides swimming - I love to do.

I love it so much that I want to do a 300km (i.e. 480 miles) hike. If only I can find the country again that presents it. It is some kind of historical/religious or something like that, hike. If I'm not mistaken it is in the region of Portugal or Spain. That is now after I've climbed Kilimanjaro.

My longest hike so far was a 75km (120 miles) hike along the coast in 3 days. It was tough but it was worth it. Beautiful scenery but a lot of hills. I will never forget that hike. It was also the time when I was young and stupid: I got drunk for the very first time in my life.  Our team arrived a couple of days early and with enough spending money to buy a couple of bottles for each of us... and I liked Spiced Gold a bit too much. I had the whole bottle for myself. Not good. However, this is about hiking and not me getting drunk... :-)

Well, I had back surgery a couple of years ago and swimming and hiking are the only 2 exersizes I'm allowed to do. Not even jumping or running or weights for me. Just as well, I hate exersizing in any case. To hike in nature is one of the most relaxing things one can do. I feel closer to my Creator, I feel free and my mind just clears. It is also something my whole family can join in. I just wish we can do it more but as soon as things turn up, we will do it more.

With hiking it is the one place where you don't have to worry about how you look... You are free to be you. That is why I love to hike. It is just you and nature. That is when THAT question comes up as I look at all the living things around me: How can one not believe in God? Everything around us, is alive. It is created so beautiful, so perfect! How can there not be a God when one sees all of that in all that beauty?

What you've told me, it is clearly not an easy walk... and I'm not expecting it to be. Why do I want to do it? I'm a Christian, it is just something very special for me and what you've told me now, makes it even more special to me - all that history behind it. That and besides the fact that I love to walk and to do something I've never done before. It will be a goal I'm setting for myself and something I will be looking forward to - there are so many reasons for me to do it (personal and spiritual). Thank you for taking the time to give me the information - specifically about the Jubilee year. Now I really understand the meaning of it and I will prepare for it. I'm really looking forward to it. Have a great day!

I already went and read up a lot more about it. I see the next Jubilee year is 2021. A bit far but I would like to do it in a Jubilee year. It will make it that more special. Will you please send (msg) me the info. I would like know as much as I can about it. It sounds like you have walked this route... did you? Thank you in advance! Sincerely.

Thank you so much!! You don't know how long I've been looking for it. Just today I was talking about it again and wish someone would know what I was talking about. You made my day, Riverlove! Many thanks!! :-)
