Black And Blue

After the movie, I liked this doomed artist even more.

He was so much more than a superficial country singer.  His voice didn't fit.  It was an ominous voice that spoke -he spoke more than sang- of his personal drama and of the state of affairs in his country.

The friendship of the Man in Black with Bob Dylan was a big surprise.  Unforgettable are his concerts in prisons.  I'll never forget the yells of the inmates of San Quentin.

Johnny Cash was a great musician and he incarnates some of the noblest American traits.
