I Like Kiss

Kiss In The 70's

I was in High school when my friends started listening to KISS, We were just getting into Roack and Roll, Zepplin and Areosmith. But KISS is the band that turned us into Thin Air rockers!  We learned all the songs and started giving Kiss Air Concerts, You know useing brooms and other things to pretend we were playing, our friend Chris evenual started playing real drums as we progressed and started useing real instruments. The first alblum i bought my self was LOVE GUN, the LIVE DOUBLE ALbum.  But I remember learning all Genes Sonngs because thats who I pretended to be, learning the bass riffs and songs.  As I'm writing this Im listening to the Kiss Ikons cd my daughter got me a few weeks ago.  Wow, all the memerys flooding back.  There going to be here in November but I think Im a little old for a KISS concert!  I have a reputaion yea know.....lol

    KISS were great! Loved the Original line up......kinda like the Tommy T version of 'Spaceman' but it kinda feels morally wrong, y'know? "Sonic Boom", their last all new material album, was a real return to form....



    It was about '78 when I got into KISS. The previous year, for some reason - I think 'cos I was only 7 at the time! - I got the KISS 'image' mixed up with the 'music' of The Sex Pistols.....and I hated the Pistols....



    It wasn't until the next year that I realized my mistake! Oooops! LOL!



    The first album? It was "Love Gun" for me, followed quickly by "Alive II"....



    I think I wore them both out!!!



    The 80's I went to lots of KISS concerts, mostly with Bruce and Eric in the band. Good band....loved them. "Animalize", "Lick It Up", "Crazy Nights" & "Revenge".....all great albums from the unmasked band...



    I was overjoyed when the original group reunited.......Saw them 3 times on that reunion tour! I saw a couple of shows on the UK reunion tour and then, a bit later, saw the final show of the tour, at Hyde Park....



    What a show! That's probably the best show that I've seen them play...



    Since then, seen them at Download on the 35th Anniversary Tour Show, and - was it really last year or the year before? - on the Sonic Boom Tour....



    One of the best bands ever....

    Buy the time they were fist talking about taking off the makeup, i was moving into heavy metal and they were losing there flair. I have seen a couple of videos and it was strange at first, but I like the KISS with makeup. Dont get me wrong I felt they had trapped themselfs behind the masks a long time ago. When they started doing solo albums AI knew the real KISS of death for the band had been given.
