A friend who shares my phobia told me this word today.

coulrophobia: (n.) an extreme, irrational or abnormal fear of clowns

Used in a sentence: My coulrophobia kicked into high gear when I saw the clown at the party, a wicked gleam in his eyes and that big, red, sinister smile. Of course, that could just be my perception. The balloon animals did look kind of harmless, but they're probably just as evil.

i look for words relating to various phobias,. Thanks for this one.

You're welcome.

This seems to be a common one. I hear about it a lot. Im okay with them. Did you have an incident with one?

I don't think I actually had an incident, but my parents said when they took me to the circus as a small child I saw one, was instantly scared and started crying. Seeing "Poltergeist" and "It" sealed the deal for me.

It's not an irrational fear...they make the devil look like a choir boy!

Very true! They are the ultimate evil incarnate! I will run screaming in the opposite direction every time! Glad to know I'm not alone in my fear. ;) Thanks for the word, too. :)
