I think the phrase "old fart" should be used in description of somebody in their 80's as I know people in their 70's who I do not consider old, mature yes, but not old as they are living life with jest and abandon, much more than people half their age. While I haven't reached that stage of "abandon" I am working on it...wish I had been working on it in my 20's rather than experiencing layers of fear of one thing or another...fear of rejection, fear of loss of income/job/relationship, whatever. Had I achieved maturity before now I know many things would have been much more fulfilling in my life as I hope you are being fulfilled in yours. If you see my stories you will see I have a focus of a special fulfillment for my wife and I use EP to explore those sorts of things...would be honored if you would explore with me...ps love your avatar

"he was the first to open my eyes to a world I had closed off because of stereotypes"

Ima use the word 'fortunate' ... fortunate are those who can realize how stereotypes kneecap us all ... we could substitute 'she' or 'they' for 'he.' I think it's OFTEN actually an individual who opens our eyes to the insanity of our prejudices.

The hippiechick DID nail it on the head(ouch). That older girl - the 7th grader? - was wayyy off limits for all of us in 4th grade. Once we were high school juniors, we couldn' even CONSIDER a 7th grader. Ewwww.

We're ALL someone's 'older' ... an someone else's 'younger.' There probably wasn' a better reason for anxiously anticipatin an cravin adulthood ... the freedom of leavin the restriction of minordom for the wide open of adult life.. Those who realize this early in life are at advantage. There is a vast smorgasboard of folk available to us in a vast array of pleasures - once we decide to ditch the stereotypes.

Funny thing bout age is, the more you have the less it matters.

As a old man I do enjoy your story and the turn around!

I am dating a girl who is 20 years younger then me.

I have been told I do not look my age and I sure don't feel it!

There are a lot of 25 to 40 year old men at work who are unable to keep up with me then there are the younger chicks who have said not only I am way ahead of any young men they have dated but they like the fact that I don't play all the games the younger guys do.

I don't have the time for it as I know the clock is ticking and I do not want to waste time on BS.

    Best of luck to you

    Auggie

I find the story and comments most revealing. As 'an old fart' I have never thought of the way in which you ladies perceive us. It's all very interesting. I always have a desire to pass on things to others. Lifes experiences do matter but I have no wish to upset anyone. I know in my heart that I enjoy communicating with people much older than I am. It's just lovely to feel the warmth and appreciation from both sides. One day I am hoping that younger ladies will start communicating with me. Enjoy life as you find it.

Sometimes when we take a closer look at things we have made a quick or uninformed judgment on we find that there is more to those things than we may have originally thought. It sounds like you are glad that you have taken the chance to look deeper into what an older man is all about. That being said not all older men will fall into that group of remembering your last conversation or being wiser for their age.

Hey fellas, I dont think that you are an 'old fart' till at least 60. I'm past that and there is this entertainer who is in the news that just married a lady a few years younger than himself. Turns out she is his manager. He is 71 just as I am. Ican not remember a better time of my life than right now. I do enjoy the vibrancy of younger women , I'm speaking of 50's or better. I do love to listen and to do wonderful things, be they grand or perhaps very small.

Oh, Minxy...it's not that we're "Older" the word you used is "Gentleman". It's almost completely lost on the younger generations...very sad.

    One "Old Fart"... Here.

I like the fact that a younger woman understands how a mature man treats women with respect and looks to their mind as being equal with ideas and discernment. He can learn so much from a younger woman.

A lot of women write off all of us "old farts" as perverts and creepy. A lot are but most of have learned and been taught how to treat a lady. "Ur hot lemme see whatcha got baby" is so lame only a horny boy who can't drive yet would even consider it.

Most of us old fart know and appreciate women. We also know that there is a helluva LOT more to a woman than just her girly parts.

And you, FeistylilMinx, are coming into the age when you become very interesting. You've been through a lot and can carry a conversation past a few polite sentences.

We really do love you and other women back. We truly do. Thank you.

I have never known you to be anything other than respectful CWS... definitely not pervy or creepy... the worst is older men who use lines like "Ur hot lemme see whatcha got baby"... pretty pathetic if that's all you've got...

You hit the nail right on the head minxy... I have always preferred the company of older men... so much more interesting and sensual... although I have met a few younger ones here who are wise beyond their years...

As one of the old farts in your circle, allow me to speak for all in stating our appreciation that you transformed your opinions. I am also quite pleased I coaxed you into this story and group. *smiles* Thank you ... now I have to figure out who this other old fart is I need to thank as well. :)
