From my early teens I had always found some black girls to be very attractive, but it was nothing more than just glances. I recall a time in my early 20's while out clubbing I saw a beautiful black girl with a lovely smile who I approached got talking too, had a few drinks and danced with. As we danced we shared a harmless kiss, but nothing more became of it.
Since then and until last year I had never had a serious relationship with a black woman. But one night on EP I happened upon a profile of a black woman who I thought was beautiful. Without reading her complete history, I immediately sent her a private email. She was very sweet, but questioned my interest in her. You see, she was 15 years+ my age and we lived on opposite sides of the Atlantic. But there was just something about her that I really liked and wanted to get to know awhole lot better. Everyday I sent her messages that she quickly replied to. The more we talked the more we found we had in common, like history, movies, travel and even our families were similar. We would just talked for hours, im talking at least 8 a day... Everyday.
It quickly became apparent we had a connection and I knew I had to meet this woman to see if this was real. You can read about that experience under "My EP Romance".
Now after talking to each other over a year, two trips one of which was 3 beautiful months being together which was absolutely amazing! There was no denying that we were deeply in love. The only thing I wanted was her and I asked her to be my wife. I'm happy to say we are engaged and currently working out the logistics of my relocation to the States and our wedding.
So me and my fiance prove that love can happen between two seemingly different people. We have had to overcome some adversity due to our race, age and cultural differences. We've shown that all you need is mutual respect, honesty, friendship, open-mindiness and love. Relationships are possible and can blossom no matter the circumstances or the differences.
