The Best Ever Christmas TelevisionIn UK BBC broadcast Andrea Andermann's film of the opera " Cenerentola" ba
Superb acting and singing made this a beautiful conversion of the usual pantomime show to something intellectually challenging with dramatic twists to the expected plot.
Well worth watching too because many of the scenes were shot at a magnificent visually stunning palace in Turin.
Was very disappointed in "Aida" from the Albert Hall. In comparison with the Verona or Metropolitan Opera production it was like somewhat like a village hall show!
On the Verona production I recall seeing a Triumphal March on VHS where the procession used the arena steps on both sides of the set with trumpets sounding at high level from one side of the stage to the other. Seems that current productions no longer do this - possibly safety or conservation issues?
