Grew Up Rural

I grew up rural, we had a well, chopped wood, grew our own vegetables, bartered with local farmers. My parents moved 'back to the land" in the '60's. Sometimes life was hard. One of my friends in high school lost her father because when he had a heart attack, it too over four hours for an ambulance to reach him, and get him to a hospital. Yet much of it was wonderful.

Of course, growing up rural I wanted to experience the big city. I've done that, and have grown to hate it. Now I want to live rural again. The problem is figuring out how to do so.

It's funny I grew up in a big city, moved to a rural area and loved it. nowI would love to live in a big city because there is always something going on. They both have advantages and disadvantages.

Thanks. I came very close to getting a job in a rural community. In the end, I had more experience but the other candidate was a man. he got the job. It would have been a great place to live.
