Alien, Aliens, Predator, Predator 2, The Terminator, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, The Thing ('82 John Carpenter remake), Star Wars (mainly the original trilogy), The Fly (the remake with Jeff Goldblum in it), RoboCop, Starship Troopers, Soylent Green and Scanners. These are my favourites :D
2001: A Space Odyssey was interesting. In the end it made no sense, but I enjoyed it for the visual aspect and for the history - being one of the 'Big 3' that influenced the genre of Sci-Fi.
As for novels, I love reading the Predator books and some of the Alien(s) ones, as well as books from the 'Black Library,' i.e. the Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000 novels. My favourite would be 'Storm of Iron' and I'm currently reading the first book of the Horus Heresy, which is also very good. I'm also a huge fan of comics so the Dark Horse comics (for Sci-Fi in particular) are a godsend for me; I get Predator, Aliens, The Thing (From Another World) and the Terminator. It's awesome.
P.S. I also love the fact you use Eternity as your avatar XD

Movie - Blade Runner
Book - The Forever War - Joe Haldeman

I wish I had a Sci-Fi channel. And as for my favourite Sci-Fi film; Blade Runner, with 2001 very close behind.
Maximum respect for the use of Eternity as your logo : )
