Stringing Tunes Together to Say Something

Wow.  I haven't done this for a long time, now.  By the time I finished I'd sometimes end up disappointed with the results, too.  The story-line wasn't clear enough, or the music didn't really express what I'd hoped, or -- dag nabbit! -- it just didn't make sense like I thought it would.  A lot of the fun was just in the trying.  And, the few (and it was a very few) times it did turn out . . . oh, what a ride!  Those stories meant a lot to me.

Yeah. I'd usually write down on paper what I wanted before starting. I don't recall if I used to change the direction while actually recording though...

Creativity makes it fun. I have an idea of what I'm after when I begin. I'm as likely, if not more likely, to find a different avenue or possibilities I'd not considered before I'm finished. The journey is is the adventure, because the destination is often unknown until I get there.

It's like with the name creating group some of us are in here... We're not really inventing a lot of these names, but God is that fun :-D

I think we all invent it anew, every time we start a fresh track.

Is one of the great artforms. Probably my first exposure to this was hearing a radio DJ having done this as a joke. My second exposure was my brother running over claiming to have invented this :-D

This is funny - I really did think more people did this!! I would say try again. There are so many stories to create - I think maybe for this one - you PROBABLY have a good start, but maybe some of the parts are not matching.
