The Secret of All Success and Happiness

I am a recent student of Eastern Spirituality and would like to share a quote with you:

"How to be at peace now? By making peace with the present moment. The present moment is the field on which the game of life happens. It cannot happen anywhere else. Once you have made peace with the present moment, see what happens, what you can do or choose to do, or rather what life does through you. There are three words that convey the secret of the art of living, the secret of all success and happiness: One With Life. Being one with life is being one with Now. You then realize that you don't live your life, but life lives you. Life is the dancer, and you are the dance."

From "A New Earth" by Eckhart Tolle, pg.115.

I want to hear more!

You're welcome.

I'm happy you appreciate it. Thanks, Underground Angel.

That's really beautiful. Thank you for posting this here.

weareonespirit: I love this Einstien quote so much that I'm going to put it up in the bathroom (and elsewhere)--thanks for passing it along.

Yeah, nice!!

Awesome quote wearonespirit - I've been seeing these kinds of quotes from Einstein a few times recently... synchronicity, I guess! Thank you for sharing that.

A human being is a part of a whole, called by us 'universe', a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest - a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.
~Albert Einstein~

Evergreen - how did you come to be living in the Now - was it a gradual process, or did it happen suddenly with insight (like a lightbulb going on)?

now, i am not confuse. I am living the now

Beautiful, Dee! Reminds me of some things Alan Watts has said about how Planets produce people the way apple trees produce apples. We live with an illusion that we somehow are separate from the Universe, came here, were born into this world, where another way of viewing it is that Life, this very planet, is expressing itself as us. Thus in Zen the question is asked to think about your original face, in other words, the world is us. We are moments of being, here in the world, walking, breathing, learning, loving, living...
