I Like The Look In Your Eyes And The Way You Kiss
....Why does life have to always seem to have a hitch to it? Why can't things just be smooth, easy, simple...or can they?
....Zooming forward to a little coffee shop in a quaint area of town....you drink your funky combination that is foreign to me, as I don't frequent coffee shops since I am a tea or diet soda drinker. We meet as though we have known one another forever...it sure feels that way...
....Sitting in a cozy corner where we can still feel the ambiance of the shop, while being able to focus on one another. Laughing over silly things, and especially over the ridiculously deep questions I come up with but ask with serious intention of knowing the answers. You humor me with trying to formulate a good response, and do quite well actually. (I read your reaction to the absurd however, and yet you continue to humor me as the laughter feels so real, so right, so good!)
....We avert our eyes for a moment as we hear the kitchen crew cleaning up and note the darkness and the brightness of the moon shining at an angle through the window. Glancing at the clock, it's 5 minutes to closing time. Where did the hours go any way...three and a half hours for coffee!!
...Helping me on with my sweater coat, I feel the security of your touch with something so seemingly normal to many, but to me, I feel like royalty...such a good feeling that only those who have done without can appreciate.
....Walking me to my car on a chilly night...we pause, stop for a moment...similar and yet different situations that we can so understand without any kind of words to affirm them..You gently take my face in your hands just the way I have always wanted it to be...just as I had imagined so many times...the back of my mind wanting even just a moment... a moment that would last forever within that spot of time. Stopping the intimacy for a moment as a car parked in the distance plays a song that is oh so beautiful...the sweet kiss continues...
We both look at one another wondering why life cannot be such that situations of loneliness are instantly alleviated...the song exemplifies such a beautiful sentiment....
