Walton's Mountain

Today my wife and I drove to Schyler Va. and visited the Walton's mountain museum. It is the home of Earl Hamner Jr., creator of "The Waltons". We visited the school house where he attended and which now houses the museum. We saw the actual house where he grew up, and we learned alot about his life as well as the television series and cast. It was a very interesting day and we became renewed fans of the show. They have replicated sets of the livingroom, kitchen, and Johnboy's bed room which were intersting to see. There was alot of information about the area, and the people who inspired the characters. I have always enjoyed the show....but now that we have actually been to "Walton's Mountain", it brings it alot closer to home (and we only live about an hour and a half away).
