    Yea, I would like too see a barefoot community too, this way we could kick out shod people out of our stores. Ha Ha

    I've been going barefoot for many years. Your feet will (slowly) adapt to their environment. I can walk on city streets, gravel, gratings and hot pavement without discomfort. One mistake many people make is to go barefoot on hot pavement right after winter. They will blister and burn their feet and be turned off to going unshod. Your body takes time to adapt. Yes, I've plucked small shards of glass from my soles. Most times I didn't realize they were there as they were in my callouses. Just take it slow and you'll be able to barefoot on just about any surface.

    Fortunately, there are still many places around the globe where walking barefoot is still possible and practical. Granted, those places are disappearing fast...
