Great basic recipe, I use butter rather than shortening.

Chez Panisse Ginger Snaps: http://chocolateandzucchini.com/archives/2005/02/chez_panisse_gingersnaps.php
Fantastic just how it is.  You can make the full recipe, and just slice a few cookies off at a time.

Chicken Parmesan with tomato and basil: http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/recipe/0,,FOOD_9936_24524,00.html
A great recipe, even better in tomato season :-)

Blackberry Tart: http://www.napastyle.com/kitchen/recipes/recipe.jsp?recipe_id=111
The almond crust recipe is fantastic for pies as well as this tart.

Banana Cream Pie: http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/recipe_views/views/107728
Great recipe, I love the idea of adding the banana to the graham cracker crust to add stability.  I usually reserve half the cream called for, then whip it to stiff peaks and fold into the custard after the custard has chilled.

Celerey Root Soup: http://orangette.blogspot.com/2007/01/bad-case.html
It takes a rather neglected ingredient, and showcases it brilliant.  Very good.
