Since a Kid...

i was helping in the kitchen from childhood, and it was a great pleasure the day my mother told me i had made one of her trademark dishes better than she did!!!

When I was growing up my mom was a school teacher. So on Sunday afternoon she had to get ready for school. The rule of the house for Sunday was mom would fix a good breakfast and, if we didn't eat out (which we often did), she would fix a good dinner. Sunday night the rule was if you wanted something to eat, you fixed it yourself. And you had to fix something nourishing before you ate junk. I thank her every day. She made me comfortable in the kitchen. And she never complained about me making a mess in the kitchen when I baked something.
