Salvation Army, Red Cross, United Way, Toys For Tots

Salvation Army, Red Cross, United Way, and Toys for Tots are all in need of donations and volunteers.

I am going to join in with thousands of people across my state and ring the bell for the Salvation Army. I saw the clips on the local and national news that echoed the blogs and stories that were posted here this morning. This country is in some lean financial times. It is up to each and every one of us as citizens of the United States to give a helping hand up. There are groups in this country that will help to insulate the homes of senior citizens, so that their heating dollars will stretch further. A church in my area is doing this for 10 seniors homes. I am volunteering to work, to do the actual labor involved. I signed up for this because it was a difference that I could make in my own community. I have also started a canned food drive at my place of business. Now is the time people. We need to come together to help each other. I'm reaching my hand out to help. I hope everyone else will too.

I am glad that so many are answering the call to volunteer. It's a tough year and we all need to reach out now.

If everyone would volunteer to help just one person, we all would benefit from it!

For the past few years our family has adopted a child from the Salvation Army's Angel Tree for Christmas. I take the kids with me to shop for the child. It's not much, but I feel a little can sometimes go a long way.

I too will volunteer with the Salvation Army!
