My Dear Friend Susi

She is a very dear friend of mine. Yeah, title kinda explains it. She is 58 and i just got to talk to her more openly. She once shared with me the story of how she met her husband, who is now dead. She told me her parents aranged her marriage, even though she was already in love with someone else: but she didn't want to disobey her parents, so she married Mr. Torres(as i knew him). He was very kind and most importantly...he was kinda rich. That is whay her parents decided to get them together. It is very common in a town as small as this...and it's Mexico.
She was happy, though. He treated her with respect and they became very close friends. I suspect she also got to love him, but not as much as the man she loved before getting married. I never asked because i didn't want to question her too much. I t was abvious that she is very sentimental about that subject.
Once, when her husband stoped in front of a gas station to get some things in another nearby store, she saw that man;the one she had been so in love with, and thought of going to talk to him. Ask about his life and if he had married too, but as soon as she got out of the car she felt scared, because he saw her too. She said his eyes were unreadable. He didn't scare her, it was herself. After all those years there was no purpouse in talking to him again. He seemed okay. So she just sat back in and waited for her husband. He came almost right after and didn't notice the man in front. Both are death now and she is taking care of her husband's store. She looks happy with how her life is right now. I hope for nothing but a peaceful life for her. She trully is a strong person. She never lamentes any of her decisions, because they are hers. And i admire her.
