So Many Books, So Little Time...

I love to read. I read all sorts of books. My obsession with reading started when I was younger. Growing up my family moved around a lot. So, as a child I was always leaving my friends behind, and having to make a new start some where else. I would have figured this would have made me a more extroverted person, always having to make new friends like that. But, from my personal experience it had the exact opposite effect. The more time drug on, the more and more shy and quiet I became - almost to the point where I'd go through an average school day almost not saying a word unless spoken to. And, as I got older I found it more and more difficult to relate to people. This was when I started my obsession with reading. I'd read all sorts of fiction, and non-fiction books. Most of the one's I'd read would be exciting, and or adventureous. They'd spark my imagination - they'd allow me to sort of live the life I always wanted, without having to go outside my shell. I kept up with my reading, averaging about 2 books a month for just about the entire length of my Jr. High, and High school career (and yes, the school library was one of my regular "haunts").

I went to high school for one year, then had to go on home school for the remainder of my high schools years - which was three years. Then I REALLY felt isolated. It was at this point in my life that I kept in touch with only 2 of my orginal high school friends, and turned to the internet to find others. I felt cut off - so completely alone. This was a time in my life when books REALLY helped me escape the loneliness.

But, now I am glad to say that I am older, and have out grown a lot of this stuff. While I am still a rather quiet person at times, I am certainly not as bad as I was back then. And I still love to read! I have a huge personal library of books. I read all sorts of Sci-Fi/Fantasy books, books on Philosophy. technical books (mainly on computers, I'm really into computers), books on modern herbalism, and all sorts of misc. topics. I love reading anything I can get my hands on, really. :)

So basically in a nutshell; my love for reading still sticks with me, it's just now it's solely for my own amusement, and not as a cheap remedy for my problems.

I love to read as well. It doesn't even have to be a book. I read cans, boxes. I read articles on the internet all the time too. I sometimes have 2 or 3 books going at the same time too! It's almost nuts! LOL Reading opens a whole new world to us!

Books are a great source of entertainment and escape. You can go anywhere be anyone. Many of the writers never even left the areas they grew up in so being well traveled is not essental to enjoying a good book.

this is a very good story- thanks
