Something Out Of Nothing

I'm not big of TV and when I'm not online but relaxing, you will find me either doing some cross stitch or sewing something.
At the moment I'm making a teddy bear for my little step-grandson. When it's finished it will be unique, with hand made clay eyes and nose. I have also bought a little heart shaped bell to fasten around it's neck with a blue ribbon which I will embroider with my grandsons name.

It's very satisfying to watch what ever you are making slowly come together and at the end you can sit back and think "I made that"
Everything I make, I sew by hand. I always take extra special care, small and neat stitches that I know won't come undone. I hope that the items won't be tossed aside when I am dead and gone and that way, part of what I have been able to give will live on.

What I like best, is when someone gives you fabric that might other wise get thrown away. It is recycling at it's best and you know you have been able to create something out of nothing then.
