    No way...you are too cute. Your wife must adore you. You're sort of like the modern day house-mom, but with a rock style and MUCH better recipes. How fun. I've done this before however my recipe called for Ivory soap bars (something about the castille soap). I'm going to try yours out. When I used the recipe I did, my clothes came out SO much cleaner. I've been told that if you hang your clothes out in the sun it works as a natural bleaching in a way. Not that it changes your color clothes, but it gets your whites truly white...like they did in the old fashioned days. I would love to have a mini lavender field and a have a discreet clothes line where I could hang them above the lavender to get that nice scent. Then my clothes would smell like the sun and a hint of lavender :}

    i do this, too, but i Use a full cup of the powders and a whole bar of soap. i add orange oil when i have it, or to the drying load. works great and if i need more power/stain fighter, a little foxy does the trick.

    Mmmm, delicious. Perfect after an evening of foul language.

    My weekend just got booked solid.

    I would just have to check if Zope or Ivory soap is available here, and anytime I'd be ready for grating and mixing. I think it's worth the try. And not to forget, good ventilation while doing the process. Thanks for sharing BP.

      I know. I got sick of spending so much money, and one of my sisters taught me how to make this when we were visiting over Christmas. Last night, I finally tried it for the first time. It's so easy that you'll kick yourself for paying so much for it at the store. One tip would be to save any of your Tide containers, because you can put this stuff in those.
