Staying Strong

I try to work out at least 5 days a week.  I have a whole collection of workout videos that I can choose from.  I have to change it up or I get bored.  I do aerobics and kickboxing and walk videos.   I try to use weights a couple times a week.   I can't say I Love working out.   Mostly I love being able to do it, and staying healthy and strong.  I'll never be a little girl, but parts of me are hard as rocks!  I was able to walk a 5k for heart disease in honor of my dad without hurting.    That impressed me since I was over 40 and had never done anything like that before!  I did a lot of the heavy lifting when I moved 3 times in the last 4 years.  I think that's the most important thing - to be able to do the things you need and want to do, and as you get older, that gets harder to do.  My mom is a good example for me.  She worked out with Jack la Lane back when I was a kid, and at age 70 she had a set of biceps to kill for!  That's actually why I started working out!  I couldn't let this little old lady get the best of me!     She still works out with 2 pound weights and does her stretches at age 85!
